sometimes i think about the fact that everything the knight does ensures they leave a little more of themselves behind on the world for people to remember them and then i get overemotional because one of hollow knight’s big themes is remembrance and ‘the only death that matters is being forgotten’

honestly i feel like the grimm troupe goes all in on aesthetic to make the whole task of traveling to dead kingdoms and cleaning up less depressing

even taking into account troupe member changes and every grimm being their own individual incarnation and some summoners understanding that their purpose is to cleanse the land of nightmares and make a fresh start that’s probably still like, hundreds of years worth of Dealing With This Shit per life
